Join with us to write and celebrate writing throughout Chicago during the month of October!

For Write Across Chicago people of all ages and walks of life are writing and sharing writing in small groups – in schools, library branches, offices, and community organizations. This is not a contest, but rather an opportunity for people to write about ideas and issues that matter to them. A culminating celebration takes place Nov. 1st at the Harold Washington Library.

Sign up your group at our website NOW, and find help for getting it started and making it successful.

Many Chicago organizations are supporting Write Across Chicago, including our host institution Northeastern Illinois University, the Chicago Public Library, Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Teachers Union, the Chicago Bar Association, the Field Museum, the Poetry Foundation, the Newberry Library, the Society of Midland Authors, many education non-profits, and more.

This program was made possible by generous support from the Oppenheimer Family Foundation, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Projects, and Stifel Investment Brokers.
